YOUR APPOINTMENT

What to expect

I generally work from a dedicated reflexology room in my home (Please see my contact page). If you are unable to travel I do offer reflexology home visits.
Please expect to leave about 1 and a half hours for your first reflexology appointment as I need to take a detailed history. This helps inform me of the best areas to focus on and deliver a personalised treatment plan. I also want to ensure you feel as relaxed as possible. Future reflexology appointments should take around 1 hour.
I use a Lafumer chair which reclines back into a relaxing position. You only need to remove your shoes and socks and I will apply a small amount of reflexology balm to your feet. Its best if you can close your eyes and just relax during your reflexology treatment and let your body do the rest. I will use my fingers and thumbs to apply different pressures to areas on your feet which is quite different from a foot massage. Some touch is very light and some a little firmer but not painful or ticklish, most people say it is very relaxing and often fall asleep.
Following your reflexology treatment we will discuss any findings and If you like I can offer some health and lifestyle advice.
It's difficult to say how many reflexology treatments you will need but generally people start to feel changes after 4 to 6 sessions. Or just come for the relaxing experience.  As stated previously reflexology does not claim to diagnose or heal but may improve symptoms and rebalance the body so it can start healing itself.
Some people may experience a headache or a slight worsening of their symptoms following their reflexology appointment, if this happens it generally only last a few hours and drinking plenty of water and resting usually helps.
